I still remember the excitement of graduating from college, eager to take on the world, convinced I knew everything. Back then, I often heard the phrase, “It’s not what you know, but who you know.” And it made sense. I was fresh, unpolished, but I had a network I could rely on for opportunities.

Fast forward 30 years, and while networking is still vital, I’ve come to understand something deeper: “It’s not who I know, but what I know.”

Over the decades, I’ve been fortunate to build a toolchest that includes successes, misteps, and the ability to quickly pivot and adapt. From the days of pagers and payphones, three-copy order forms, and face-to-face meetings, to today’s fast-paced, tech-driven world, one truth remains: a solid work ethic and the ability to make informed decisions are irreplaceable.

Technology has dramatically changed how we do business. I love that we can now make quick decisions and scale efficiencies. But I’ll always believe in the power of relationships—whether it's through sending a sample, resolving a problem face-to-face, or ensuring that every project stays on track with the right strategy.
